Studio Policies

We have come up with the following studio policy in order to offer you the best GYROTONIC® and PILATES experience in the Boston Metro-West area. Your time at the Movement Center should not only transform your body, but should also nurture your soul. Please adhere to our policy so that you may get the greatest benefit from your time with us.

Arrival

We request that you make every effort to arrive at least five minutes before your scheduled class or private lesson. This will give you time to change, take a deep breath, and let go of your busy life outside the studio. Upon arrival we ask you to please leave your shoes, your coat, your cell phone, and your worries safely tucked away in one of our cubbies by the front door. If your coat is large or wet, please feel free to hang it on one of our coat racks.

Pregnancy

If you are more than 3 months pregnant, for the safety of you and your child, we reserve the right to not let you in class for both PILATES and GYROTONIC® group classes.

Trainer Substitutions

We reserve the right to change a trainer last minute without notice. Please understand in an emergency a substitute may be provided. We apologize for this but no refunds will be given.

Late Arrivals

For your own safety and out of respect for your fellow students and the instructor, you may not join a class more than 5 minutes after it has started. If you know ahead of time you will be arriving late, please call or text the studio at 508-498-1451 or inform the instructor if you have his or her number – so that we can make arrangements or adjustments to the schedule and/or the class if it is at all possible.

Check In

Once you have removed your coat and placed your shoes inside a cubbie, please wait in the waiting area to check-in with the instructor when he/she is free.

Cell Phones

Cell phones are not allowed beyond the front desk or waiting area. If you are expecting an important call while at Movement Center, you may leave your phone with the front desk staff (if someone is there), and they will get you if it rings.

Changing Rooms

We do not have showers at Movement Center. There are two bathrooms in the building that may serve as changing rooms if you need to change your clothes on arrival.

Attire

We suggest you wear loose fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. To keep the refined atmosphere of the Movement Center, please choose clothing that adequately covers your body. Trust us, you’ll be grateful for this bit of advice.

Scheduling

You may schedule appointments with the staff directly or online using our website or the MindBody App. Once you have created an online account with us, you will be able to reserve, cancel, and pay for classes through our website.

Ever think of transforming your body, I mean really transforming your body, from the inside out on a cellular level as well as a muscular one? As a retired woman 65 next month who has been exercising for years, yoga of all types, PILATES, reformer, Zumba, I can tell you that although I didn’t expect that, and I wasn’t promised that, I have noticed a difference in my posture, body awareness, and even confidence since I have been working with Deborah Saparoff.

I had heard of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® in San Diego where I spent the winter. New to Massachusetts, I joined some meetups based on my interest, fitness, Italian, theatre, are, and I found Deborah. It is a 28 mile ride each way and worth the drive and the energy. When you look at Deborah, right before your eyes you have a model of balance, grace, and form.

When she models the very difference spiraling techniques and breathing, one opens up gradually, which is evident in one’s added range of motion and the “feeling” of greater space and height.

I always say after a session, I feel like a million bucks! It is truly powerful work! I recommend Deborah Saparoff unequivocally as an inspirational master teacher.

I have scoliosis, with kyphosis and deep lordosis. My back used to be hunched and in constant chronic pain. As a result I had very limited range of motion and an injury in my left shoulder due to lack of proper muscular strength/support. There was very little that physical therapy and other conventional therapeutic methods had done and could still do. As a result my best course of action had become massage therapy weekly to alleviate some of the deepest pain I was experiencing.

Since I was introduced to GYROTONIC®, about seven years ago, despite my mature age (I was 70 years old at the time) my body became a process of slow but deep/consistent transformation. I remember that since the very first lesson with Deborah, I felt the benefits. ! no longer suffer back pain, I am able to move my spine with control and deep support. I enjoy movement again and a sense of freedom and ease that practicing the GYROTONIC® Method brings to my life. I am 77 years young now!

I got so much out of the training you provided me. The experience was unique in my life – I literally learned new ways of moving and consequently new ways of being. It was  GYROTONIC® itself, your amazing skill and the joy you clearly exude in your work. I think the training has given me a lasting benefit for example we are doing a lot of hiking and I am free of the back aches that used to plague me from that sort of thing before. Wanted to say thank you.

Multiple sclerosis has altered my life in many ways, and while there are a plethora of negative symptoms of the disease, I am lucky to have been introduced to Deborah Saparoff and her GYROTONIC® exercise regimen. Specifically designed for people who have experienced the negative physical effects of injuries, diseases, etc., the exercises that Deborah has introduced me to with the GYROTONIC® system have had a positive impact on my life.
